An aircraft hovering near a crowded California beach unexpectedly commenced twirling out of control, eventually losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm trees as beachgoers observed.
Videos posted on social media capture the aircraft commencing to spiral near the beach then descending towards the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck between palms and a steps near the shoreline route.
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five persons were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on that day.
Three persons on the street were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Authorities indicated the chopper was associated with an regular “Cars with Copters” fundraising event scheduled for the following day.
